Lungren Supports Bill to Help Small Businesses Expand
Posted: 4/24/2012
Washington DC – On April 19th, Congressman Dan Lungren (R-Gold River, CA) voted to help small business expand and hire more workers. The Small Business Tax Cut – H.R. 9 – passed the house by a vote of 235-173. After the vote Congressman Lungren gave the following statement: “In this economy, we need to do everything we can to help owners of small business.
The vote adds to a long list of pro-growth jobs bills that I have supported to help move our economy forward. One of the best ways to improve our fiscal situation is to get people working and provide an environment that instills confidence in employers to the point that they make new hires.
The non-partisan Joint Tax Committee estimated that this bill will benefit over 22 million small businesses across America. According to the Small Business Administration, office of advocacy, California has 691,479 small businesses with between 1-500 employees. That is roughly 6.5 million people. I will continue to vote for legislation that supports this important engine of growth in our state and across the country.”
