Countless Fall Events Showcase The Best Of Aruba

Posted: 12/18/2013

Autumn in Aruba
Autumn in Aruba: Arubapalooza is a seasonlong series of countless events and excitement taking place on the island of Aruba.

(NAPSI)—Summer may be over on the mainland, but the fun is far from over on a Caribbean destination known for its perfect weather and powdery white beaches.

Fall on the island of Aruba-known as One happy island-is the best time to experience what’s being called “Arubapalooza!”-the island’s seasonal extravaganza encompassing countless cultural, culinary, music and fashion-oriented events and festivals.

For starters, guests who book a stay of five or more nights through participating tour operators by Oct. 31 will receive two $50 “Dine on Aruba” gift certificates to use during their September and/or October 2013 vacations. The program allows visitors to experience Aruba’s booming culinary scene, influenced by more than 90 on-island nationalities with an emphasis on Dutch fusion, at more than 20 participating restaurants.

Taking place every Monday evening this fall, Aruba keeps white in season year-round with the newly introduced Little White Dress Night—or LWD Night. This Caribbean spin on the traditional Little Black Dress is an island-wide nightlife initiative supported by more than 25 bars, restaurants and nightclubs. Visitors and locals, both male and female alike, donning white will receive exclusive food and beverage specials.

The 7th Annual Caribbean Sea Jazz Festival moves to a larger venue showcasing three stages this year at the Renaissance Festival Plaza, including an open-air main stage next to the beach. The event features Puerto Rico’s El Gran Combo on Oct. 4 and guitarist George Benson on Oct. 5.

Touted as the most revisited destination in the Caribbean, Aruba hosts ARUBA IN STYLE Nov. 8−10 at the Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino. This annual international fashion event features a series of runway shows, pool and beachside presentations, private parties and island tours.

There’s a weekly Bonbini Festival that takes place every Tuesday in downtown Oranjestad in the outdoor courtyard of Fort Zoutman, Aruba’s oldest building. Meaning “Welcome” in the island’s official language of Papiamento, “Bonbini” encourages visitors to sample the flavors of the island, its history, people, music and dance during this spirited evening.

Each Thursday from 6−10 p.m. in the town of San Nicolas, the multicultural charms of Aruba’s “Sunrise City” are on display at the lively Carubbian Festival. Audiences stroll through street vendors selling crafts and souvenirs while enjoying delicious Aruban and Caribbean street food and an interactive parade of local Carnival entertainers and musicians up and down the main street.

Arubapalooza is in full swing this fall for visitors to the One happy island. To learn more, visit
