Nov 05, 2015 12:00AM ● By Source: United Way

Local residents can help foster youth have stockings and presents to open this holiday season through United Way’s Women in Philanthropy Holiday Gifts Drive for foster youth. Visit United Way’s online Volunteer Center at www.yourlocalunitedway.org starting Nov. 1st to sign up to bring specific gifts for children in Sacramento County’s Child Protective Services or provide a $30 donation to purchase a holiday stocking for a foster youth in United Way’s programs. All items must be received by 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 30th at United Way’s office, 10389 Old Placerville Road, Sacramento.

United Way’s Women in Philanthropy brings local women together to help local foster youth. Women in Philanthropy members are first responders in raising funds for United Way to provide financial literacy courses and matched savings accounts designed specifically for foster youth. Members also hold drives and provide trainings. Women in Philanthropy is part of United Way’s team of companies, schools, government, and individuals across the region, state, and country making a collective impact in the areas of education, financial stability and health in Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, and Yolo counties.
