RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - On Wednesday, July 8, the installation of the new Lincoln Village neighborhood monument sign was complete. The project was supported by a Community Enhancement Fund (CEF) grant that was awarded to two Rancho Cordova residents, Fayzah Mughal and Michael Dack, who are neighbors in the Lincoln Village neighborhood.

“We wanted to show that we are proud to be a part of Rancho Cordova. We also wanted something that would not only act as an identifier for our community, but something that would generate a sense of pride,” said Fayzah.

After the CEF grant was awarded, Michael came up with a design concept for the monument by visiting local schools and other neighboring monument signs. With help from city staff and members of the It Takes a Lincoln Village (ITLV) neighborhood group, a finalized design was complete, and the sign was well on its way.

“We were really pleased with the amount of support we received from the City Council and from city staff,” said Michael. “It was very reassuring to know that we had their support,” he added.

The monument is located on Routier Road just north of Vanguard Drive.

The City of Rancho Cordova’s CEF is supported by Measure H, a half-cent tax measure that was voter-approved by Rancho Cordova citizens in 2014. To learn more about CEF, visit CityofRanchoCordova.org/CommunityEnhancementFund.
