RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Mayor David Sander presented the Soroptimist Int’l of Rancho Cordova & Gold River club with a proclamation honoring Women’s History Month during the March 10, 2020 City Council meeting. The proclamation highlighted the origin of Women’s History Month and the Soroptimist club’s commitment to helping at-risk women and students. Soroptimist Int’l of Rancho Cordova & Gold River has served the community for 11 years by helping 1,415 at-risk Folsom Cordova USD students, 1,300 domestic violence survivors and granted college scholarships to 15 single mothers so they can improve their lives and better provide for their families, among many other accomplishments with worldwide impact.

Soroptimist is an international 501(c)3 non-profit organization that seeks to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment. The name, Soroptimist, means "best for women," and that's what the organization strives to achieve. Soroptimists are people at their best, working to help other women to be their best.
