Congressman DeSaulnier Announces 2021 Congressional Art Competition

Participants may submit one photograph or scan of their artwork, taken in the highest possible resolution

WALNUT CREEK, CA (MPG) - Today, Congressman Mark DeSaulnier (CA-11) announced he is hosting the 2021 Congressional Art Competition for California’s 11th Congressional District. High school students who live in or attend school in Contra Costa County are invited to participate by creating original artwork. Congressman DeSaulnier’s office will be accepting virtual submissions until April 26, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. PT/8:00 p.m. ET

“Each year, I am inspired by the artistic talent of the high schoolers throughout our community,” said Congressman DeSaulnier. “I am excited to once again host this competition and share the creativity of our District’s young people in Washington and with the rest of the country.”

Participants may submit one photograph or scan of their artwork, taken in the highest possible resolution, to [email protected]. Submissions must include the Student Release Form. To access the rules and guidelines, visit https://www.house.gov/educators-and-students/congressional-art-competition. The photograph of your artwork will be presented to a panel of judges who will view all artwork electronically. The winning artwork will be sent to Washington D.C. to hang in an 11-month exhibition in the U.S. Capitol along with the winning artwork from other Congressional districts.
