SACRAMENTO REGION, CA (MPG) - Save the date for April 20 for the virtual 2021 Spirit of San Juan awards, where we will celebrate five honorees for their hard work and dedication to helping others, demonstrating positive character and supporting an inclusive environment throughout the district this past year.

This year’s ceremony will be emceed by El Camino Fundamental High School alumna and KCRA 3 news anchor and reporter Lisa Gonzales. 

After receiving more than 130 submissions, the following five individuals have been chosen to be honored as our 2021 Spirit of San Juan award honorees:

Karen Hanks, Principal, Kingswood K-8;

Vanessa Reyes, Administrative Assistant, Family and Community Engagement office;

Christopher Schneider, Student, Mesa Verde High School;

John Weathers, Head Custodian, Trajan Elementary School;

Steven Westbrook, Homeschool Teacher and Advisor.

The Spirit of San Juan awards will be held virtually on April 20 at 4 p.m. on San Juan Unified’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Stay tuned for more details!
