ORANGEVALE/FAIR OAKS, CA (MPG) - After many years of serving the community he loves, Sal Arrigo, Jr., a long time Sacramento State and American River instructor and founding president of the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Kiwanis club is moving on to greener pastures in Tennessee! His fellow Kiwanians recently gathered at Scotty’s Hideaway in Orangevale to thank Sal for his 32 years of service to the club.

Sal joined the Rancho Cordova Kiwanis Club back in 1989 and jumped right in serving as club president, organizing annual fundraising events and growing the Kiwanis membership.

When the opportunity came to start a new club in the Orangevale-Fair Oaks, Sal didn’t hesitate and once again established another thriving group who immediately started fundraising events supporting the Kiwanis Club mission of “improving the community one kid at a time”. Some of these annual events include the Pajama Drive supporting the About Kidz Christmas program, the Drive-thru Food Drive, supporting the OV-FO Food Bank, Trivia Night at Scotty’s Hideaway and the Kiwanis Kids and Horses fundraiser coming May 21st at Shadow Glen Stables in Fair Oaks.

“Without a doubt, Sal has done so much for his community and for that, we thank him. He is truly a special person and will be missed,” said Supervisor Sue Frost who presented Sal with a proclamation for his service.

We wish Sal the best in his next adventure and we thank him for all his dedication and hard work in serving our community!
