CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - Carmichael youth residents win top prize (scholarship) in the Sacramento Municipal Utility District’s (SMUD’s) 2021 Youth Energy Summit. Five high school juniors teamed up for six months to discuss climate and sustainably.  Taking what they learned, they organized a day of sidewalk chalking at the O’Donnell Heritage Park to raise awareness on the importance of biking.  The winning moment included that day and an amazing expression of their feelings and concerns through submission of an illustrated poem written in “Dr. Suess” form. Way to go Carmichael, and way to go Mira Loma Matadors!!
