ORANGEVALE-FAIR OAKS, CA (MPG) -The Kiwanis Club of Orangevale-Fair Oaks has just wrapped up its 3^rd annual Pajama Drive and Car Show and is proud to report it collected more than 550 pairs of new pajamas (surpassing the club goal of 500), to keep the kids in need in our service area warm for the winter. The pajamas will be distributed by our partner in this event, About Kidz, to insure delivery of these new pajamas.

The Kiwanis Club would like to thank all our community partners for once again making this annual event highly successful, but a special shout-out goes to Dairy Queen, Perry McGuigan of Perry Air who coordinated the Shifted Society Car Show, and Scott Lacy, owner of Scotty’s Hideaway, who hosted a separate pajama drive event and collected both money and more than 100 pairs of pajamas that were included in our total.

Not only was the club successful in collecting pajamas, but they were also successful with their annual Thanksgiving season food drive to benefit families who visit the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank. One weekend, two success stories!

As we approach 2022, we want to remind the community what makes this Kiwanis Club successful. It is the membership for sure, and the new members the club has recently welcomed. All the members are gearing up for some great programs and events in 2022, among them the 2^nd Annual Kiwanis Kids and Horses, the 2^nd Annual Easter Baskets and Food Drive. I hear there are plans for two fundraisers, a Poker Night and the “Cards for a Cause” campaign.

The events above are only the start of the plans Kiwanis has in 2022. Be a part of it - come on community-minded individuals, contact the Kiwanis Club, and find out how you can become a member. Success is spelled with a K!
