CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - Public support has been “overwhelming” after thieves hit the Carmichael School of Rock for the second time. A February 10 break-in resulted in the loss of five electric and acoustic guitars. The Fair Oaks Boulevard school opened last November; it was robbed for the first time on December 13.

In-store alarms limited the recent robbery. Security footage recorded two Caucasian perpetrators and their damaged, silver Toyota sedan. “There’s no doubt it was the same guys,” said school co-owner Jason Kline. “They took the exact same stuff both times.”

Kline said he and staff were “spooked” but determined to keep the music playing. “Because not all students have their own instruments, it’s important we have them here for their use,” Kline explained. “Losing them is unfortunate but the community is behind us: people have come to our support and donated instruments. We’ve also had an increase in enrollments (student numbers have grown from 150 to 230 since his school opened). “We’re going to keep moving on and keep rocking.”
