RANCHO CORDOVA, CA (MPG) - Councilperson Siri Pulipati presented the Soroptimist Int’l of Rancho Cordova & Gold River club with a proclamation honoring Women’s History Month during the March 21, 2022, City Council meeting.
The proclamation recalled the origin of Women’s History Month and the Soroptimist organization, as well as celebrated the club’s accomplishments helping the community’s at-risk women and students over its nearly 13-year history.
Since the Rancho Cordova/Gold River club’s founding in 2009, members have helped over 1,800 Folsom Cordova Unified School District students, provided Comfort Kits to over 1,300 domestic violence survivors, presented college scholarships to 21 single mothers, and it was announced at the 3/21 meeting that they have started a human trafficking awareness and education program.
