CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - As the 2024 music season resumes, four concerts will bring rock back to Carmichael Park. The first performance kicks off this Friday, Sept. 6.
For the safety of audiences and performers, the series this year split into spring and autumn seasons. After 40-plus years of summer music, the change left the park stage bare during July and August.
Fall shows are on four September/October Fridays. This series reinvention was prompted by postponement of two 2023 performances when temperatures hit triple-digits.
"We’re happy the way things turned out this year. We’ve had many positive comments from concertgoers,” said Carmichael Park District recreation manager Alaina Loftus. “We dodged the bullet on some really hot July and August weekends. Splitting the season will be the way forward for future concert series. It's our hope that Friday concerts will make events accessible for people who are not able to attend on Saturdays.”
While 'Spring Saturday’ performances kicked off at 5:30 p.m., ‘Fall Friday’ shows will start at 6 p.m.
Remaining bands in the series are:
Sept. 6 – The Wayside
Sept. 13 – David Perez Band
Sept. 20 – Legal Addiction
Sept. 27 – Todd Morgan and the Emblems
