CARMICHAEL, CA (MPG) - A mini world of vintage glamor was unfastened on March 8 during Sacramento Button Club’s expo at La Sierra Community Center in Carmichael.

Held every two years, the Button Bazaar event attracts dealers and fans from all over the West Coast and Nevada. Many thousands of specimens, from an industry that has been securing seams since mammoth bone toggles, were on display.

Exhibits included fasteners tooled for fashionistas from ancient China to contemporary Paris. Items displayed included antique buttons, fashion buttons, vintage buttons, glass art buttons and novelty buttons.

Held every two years in Carmichael, the Button Bazaar attracted more than 100 visitors.

According to the Sacramento Button Club, the nonprofit club was founded on Jan. 17, 1955 “dedicated to the love and appreciation of collectible clothing buttons. Club members meet the second Saturday of each month “to further our knowledge, discuss new finds and learn from other collectors.
